A Little Thing Called Sharing

As new children have entered the dayhome, the transition period has taken place! We have been working on practicing our manners and sharing numerous times throughout the day.

An effective way that I have found to get the children to share without always having to remind them, is to simply put it into our daily activity. For example, our craft on this day was to create a Tree of Hope. In order to make the Tree of Hope the children needed to gather leaves outside together, sit down, and glue the leaves on their piece of paper. Sounds simple, right? The trick... Mrs Sweet only allowed ONE gluestick to be used throughout this activity; meaning that, the children had to share. I have to say that they did a really great job at working together to gather the leaves, they sat patiently as each person glued their leaves on, but most importantly, they worked together and HELPED eachother when needed.  I was majorly impressed with their efforts on this craft. These kidlets were definitely rewarded with some gummy bears for working so hard and being so patient.
