Mother's Day Handprints

This weekend we celebrate Mother's Day, a time to honor the incredible women in our lives. The women who work so hard, who dedicate all of their time and who carry & create beautiful babies that we all love.

I am honored to know so many great ladies, both young & old, who respect themselves, who dedicate their lives to their husbands, kids and families; and who always think of themselves last.

This Mother's Day, treat yourselves well ladies. Indulge in that extra piece of cake, enjoy every sip of your morning coffees (hopefully in silence!) and get extra cuddles and kisses from those you love and who love YOU!!! Know that you are AMAZING!

Here are some handprint crafts that the kids made for their moms. Mom's also took home ceramic pots with flowers :)!

Today we had an awesome Halloween morning! The kids dressed up in their costumes and pranced around the house in the character of their costumes! We had a fun morning playing Halloween games, having a spooky & funny dance party, and reading Halloween books. The book we read was 'Room on the Broom.' The kids LOVE this book which was given to my daughter by a Dayhome mama! We also watched the movie 'Room on a Broom' which the kids adored. We feasted all morning on Halloween snacks which consisted of:

*Pumpkin Puke (hummus & crackers)

*Witches Broomsticks (cheese string & pretzels

*Worms & Dirt (chocolate pudding and gummy worms

*Toads Feet (cookies & craisens- thank you Sarah!)

*Zombie Brains (cupcakes- thank you Tana!)

*Halloween Rice Krispies - thank you Tania!)

The kids have also been spoiled with treat bags from Mrs.C and myself, Julie and Heather! Thank you all!

The kids are all sugared up and ready to go Trick or Treating tonight! Enjoy your evening with your little ones!

Christmas Ornaments!

To kick off December, the kids and I wanted to make a fun and unique Christmas craft. The weather has been so cold, that we decided to stay inside and bake Christmas ornaments. This is a fun activity that all of the kids could participate in and hang on their Christmas trees when completed!! I remember doing this activity as a child and loved it so much. I was hoping the kids would enjoy it as much as I did. To start, we mixed the dough. The kids helped me pick the shapes and poke little holes on the top for hanging. I baked the ornaments during the kids naptime so that when they woke up, they would be ready to decorate!  The kids really enjoyed painting their special Christmas ornament and could not wait to show their parents! This is a classic Christmas tree decoration that the children can be proud of and parents can have as a keepsake for when they grow older!

Happy Halloween!

Yesterday, our dayhome celebrated Halloween by having an afternoon kids party! The party started at 2:00pm where the kids were welcomed with some "scary treats!" For snacktime our menu was: Pumpkin Barf, Zombie Teeth, Ants on a Log, and Pumpkin Cookies! It was an easy (and healthy) snack. Parents, I didn't just jack your children up on sugar! Our pumpkin barf consisted of homemade guacamole, pita bread and hummus, our zombie teeth were red delicious apples with mini marshmallows, our ants on a log were celery sticks with peanut butter and raisens and of course, cookies are cookies!

As I didn't have much time (or inspiration) to go all out on decorating the house, I put up a 'haunted hallway' that consisted of black garbage bags and spooky music. The kids enjoyed this for about 5 minutes and then were consumed with the glory of being in their costumes!

Here are some pictures of these seriously adorable children. We are missing a picture of a Ninja and another little boy who was supposed to be a turtle. Parents if you have photos of them in costume, please send and I will put them up on the website!
Wishing everyone a safe and Happy Halloween!

Stay warm tonight !
